Wire world
Authors: Alex Tee Neng Heng, David G. Green
In Wire world, devised by Brian Silverman, electrons move around wire circuits. This model shows how CAs can be used to simulate a variety of physical phenomena. (See A. K. Dewdney, Scientific American, January, 1990).
A cell in wire world can be in one of 3 different states:
- Head
- Tail
- Wire
At each time step, the following transitions occur:
- Head -> Tail
- Tail -> Wire
- Wire -> Head if one or two of the neighbouring cells are Heads
